SleepSense IoT Device for Sleep Apnea Monitoring
Overview
Developed SleepSense, an end-to-end IoT solution for affordable, at-home early detection and rehabilitation of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). The system integrates an ergonomic belt-thorax sensor for real-time ECG and respiratory pattern monitoring, and a wireless pulse oximeter for continuous tracking of blood oxygen levels and heart rate. Data is processed on a web-based platform with AI-driven analysis, clinical reporting, and direct access for doctors.
Challenge
Designing an ergonomic and cost-effective sensor system, ensuring reliable real-time data transmission via MQTT, and integrating diverse data streams (ECG, respiratory patterns, oxygen saturation, heart rate) into a unified web dashboard for clinical use.
Result
Successfully developed and deployed SleepSense, enabling real-time monitoring of sleep apnea indicators with a production cost of approximately Rp2 million per unit. The system supports early diagnosis and long-term rehabilitation through a user-friendly dashboard, facilitating continuous patient-doctor communication and scalable healthcare solutions.
